Sterling Seacrest Pritchard, Truist and BoardWalk Consulting Present the 12th Annual Non-Profit Leadership Conference

Nonprofit leaders from across the Southeast recently attended the 12th Annual Nonprofit Leadership Conference presented by Sterling Seacrest Pritchard, an insurance brokerage and consulting firm in the Cumberland area; Truist and BoardWalk Consulting.

Since its inception in 2011, the Nonprofit Leadership Conference has provided a platform for growth and education through nationally recognized speakers and panelists related to the nonprofit industry.

This year’s focus “Turbulence in the Talent Pool” provided strategies and solutions for leadership including specific directives on building a diverse, multi-generational work environment. The event featured keynote speaker Bryan W. Jackson, a senior consultant with Nonprofit HR. Jackson is also a co-chair of the Nonprofit HR Affinity Groups, 2022 Intercultural Development Inventory Qualified Administrator, a 2020 recipient of the Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from Georgetown University and a 2017 Surge Institute Fellow.

The conference was held Oct. 18 th at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. This year’s event was hosted by Adriana Lawton, Vice President and Relationship Manager of the Not-for-Profit & Government banking team at Truist; Kathy Bremer, Managing Director of BoardWalk Consulting; and Dave Mathews, Partner with Sterling Seacrest Pritchard.

Attendees also heard from two panels which consisted of industry experts and addressed various topics related to the industry. The first panel was moderated by Community Leader Ann Cramer and addressed key objectives for success within the nonprofit sector. Panelists included Danita Knight, President & CEO of YWCA; Kwame

Johnson, President & CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters; and Doug Ammar, Executive Director of the Georgia Justice Project.

The second panel focused on nonprofit board involvement and management. It was moderated by Mary Pat Matheson, CEO of the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, and included panelists Dr. Raphael W. Bostic, President & CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and Misty S. Fernandez, Regional Director of Georgia Power Company.
