Wednesday, August 21st, 2024

Human Resources Generalist, Shania Ramnarine, has been recognized as an HR Leader in the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “People on the Move”.

Shania is an HR Generalist at Sterling Seacrest Pritchard, where she plays a versatile role in a wide range of HR functions. Her responsibilities span payroll, employee benefits, recruitment, training and development, employee engagement, and performance management. Shania is also actively involved in Women in Leadership, Community Outreach, and Wellness committees.

One of Shania’s proudest achievements at SSP is the creation and launch of the Future Leaders training series. She designed this series with the goal of developing and preparing the next generation of leaders at SSP, reflecting her commitment to fostering growth and development within the organization. She attributes much of her own success to the support she receives from her team, manager, and mentor.

She graduated high school from Foundation Academy, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rutgers University, and recently completed her Master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Georgia. Her advanced degree has equipped her with expertise in people strategy, including talent acquisition, leadership development, organizational research and analytics, and motivation and engagement. Additionally, she recently completed a paper introducing what she termed the GIVE model, a toolkit for ethical leadership.

Shania feels as though a career in HR “found her” at the intersection of her desire to help others and business-oriented mindset. This passion was deeply influenced by mission trips to Haiti and Panama during her high school and college years. These experiences broadened her perspective and fueled her desire to make a positive impact. Her current involvement in SSP’s Community Outreach committee reflects this commitment. Recently, she supported her team in the organization of SSP’s first-ever “June Outreach Week,” in which Atlanta team members were encouraged to participate in various volunteer events in the local community (Atlanta Furniture Bank, Ronald McDonald House, LifeLine Animal Project, etc.)

Fun fact: Shania’s name means “on my way,” a perfect representation of her ongoing journey of personal and professional growth. Shania continues to strive for excellence and make meaningful contributions to her organization and community.
