Cliff McCurry Receives the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award From UGA’s Terry College of Business

Sterling Seacrest Pritchard, one of the nation’s top 100 commercial insurance brokers, is pleased to share that Cliff McCurry was recently honored by the University of Georgia Terry College of Business with the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award. 

McCurry was honored at the Annual Terry College Alumni Awards and Gala on April 26th at InterContinental Buckhead in Atlanta. Hosted by the Terry College Alumni Board and made possible by various alumni and corporate sponsors, the annual gala is the signature event of the college. 

“There is no person I can think of that is more deserving of this honor than Cliff,” said Sterling Seacrest Pritchard President David Paddison. “He is a legendary servant leader and has had a larger-than-life impact on our industry, our company, and the University of Georgia. Cliff’s talents and personality are evident by his continuous servant leadership, and it is wonderful to see him recognized with this prestigious award.”

McCurry currently serves as the Director of Community Development for Sterling Seacrest Pritchard. He has more than 50 years of experience in commercial insurance brokerage and risk management. He has held executive management positions with Sterling Seacrest Pritchard, Willis HRH, and Jones Hill & Mercer. He earned his BBA in risk management and insurance from the Terry College of Business. 

During his career, he has played a pivotal role with multiple nonprofit and civic organizations including the University of Georgia Foundation, St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System Foundation, United Community Bank, Communities in Schools/Savannah, Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, Savannah Economic Development Authority, and the Nick Mamalakis Emerging Leader Program at Armstrong State University. Cliff has also served as Chairman for the Board for the Bethesda Academy for Boys, a board member of the Georgia Southern Athletics Foundation and is a Junior Achievement of Savannah Business Hall of Fame laureate.

McCurry notes, “I am very humbled and proud to receive this honor. My blood runs red and black, and I feel blessed to be a Georgia Bulldog. I have enjoyed a 54-year career in the insurance business thanks to the Terry College of Business Risk Management Insurance Program and it is still rated #1 in the country!”

During his career, McCurry has received a number of additional prestigious awards including being named a distinguished alumnus of Armstrong State University, a community hero by the Southeast Georgia chapter of the American Red Cross, and the Terry College of Business risk management and insurance alumnus of the year.
